This policy explains how this Forum, The Atworth Virtual Pub (hereinafter to be referred to as "The Forum"), and the phpBB company, may use any information collected during any session of use by you the User.

Your information is collected via "cookies" (small text files), in your web browser. The Forum causes the phpBB software to create cookies. The first two cookies contain a user-id and an anonymous "session-id", automatically assigned to you by the phpBB software. A third cookie is created as you browse topics within The Forum, and stores topics read, which improves your Navigation of the site.

We may also create cookies external to the phpBB software whilst browsing The Forum. We collect the information which you submit to us, including your posts, whether as an anonymous user or whether registered on The Forum.

Your account will at least contain a unique "Username" as your identification, and a password used for logging into your account, to which neither The Forum nor the pphpBB company have any access, and a personal, valid email address. Information for your account is protected by data-protection laws applicable in the United Kingdom. Any information beyond your Username, Password, and email address required during the registration process is mandatory or optional, at the discretion of The Forum Administrator. Within your account, you have the option to opt-in or opt-out of automatically generated emails from the phpBB software.

Your password is encrypted by a one-way hashand so is secure. It is recommended that you do not reuse the same password across different websites. Your password is the means of accessing your account at The Forum, so guard it carefully. Under no circumstances will The Forum or phpBB, or a 3rd party, legitimately ask you for your password. Should you forget your password for The Forum, you can use the “I forgot my password” feature provided by the phpBB software. This process will ask you to submit your user name and email, and the phpBB software will generate a new password to access your account.
